Accommodation for sailors

To be able to book your accommodation you will find a list on this website with accommodations in the near surroundings of where the event is taking place. Almost all the accommodations are in the city of Sneek or in its near surroundings. 

Camper or caravan

First on the list you’ll find the possibility to stay overnight with a camper or caravan on designated camping spots with power supply on the island called ‘Starteiland’ itself.

Small holiday ship 

Second on the list is a small holiday ship ‘The Aron’ suitible for 8 persons, especially adapted for people with a disability. The ship has a gangway and a lift so you can move from the upper to the lower deck. The kitchen sink is accessible for a wheel chair, the bed is a so called high/low bed, the shower is equipped with a shower stretcher.

A discount is possible when the ship is booked for more than one week and we made arrangements for an extra discount of 5% if you mail the company direcly on charter@marrenvloot.nl and mention the code KWS.2024

Camping site ‘De Potten’ – RCN Holiday Parks 

Third on the list you will find the camping site ‘De Potten’ for campers, caravans or tent but also the possibility for renting houses which can accommodate 6 or 8 persons. These accommodations are very nice, close to the Island and they have one or more bedrooms, toilet and shower downstairs accessible for wheel chairs. These accommodations are blocked untill the 31st of December 2023 for the Hansa. Those who make a booking via email to Potten@rcn.nl, mentioning HANSA2024, will receive a 10% discount.

This discount is only valid during the event period. They might ask you questions to make sure you get the right accommodation according to your disability and wishes.

Other accommodations

The rest of the list contains hotels, camping sites and Bed & Breadfast listed in a sequence of distance to the island. The closer to the island, the higher on the list. We also mention if the accommodation is accessible for wheel chairs.

You can book your accommodation whenever you want, but it is recommended to book is as soon as possible since our province is a favorite holiday destination for tourists.

Travelling from Schiphol Amsterdam to Sneek by train

If you are flying to Schiphol Airport Amsterdam you can travel from Schiphol Amsterdam to Sneek by train in the Netherlands. You can find the timetable on www.ns.nl

Normally you take at Schiphol Amsterdam the train to Leeuwarden by National Railway Association (NS). Exit the train in Leeuwarden and take the train to Sneek by Arriva Railway Association.

Travelling with a wheelchair with NS is also possible. You must let the NS know you are travelling in a wheelchair at least an hour in advance. Earlier is also possible. The phone number is: +31 30 2357822. Information can also be found on the internet:

Travelling with a wheelchair with Arriva is always possible because the entrance of the train is of the same hight as the platform.

From the railway station in Sneek it is about 6 km to the Island where the championship takes place. To get there you can book a wheelchair taxi. See the list of all taxis.
